Rules of thumb when using CODEX. When you run the ISO installer, there is a tick box for "Copy CODEX files automatically". Make sure you check that. I didn't the first time, and it KH1.5 + 2.5 didn't work for me. Redid it and checked the tick box, worked like a charm the second time.

Hey, I wanted to delete the disc after extracting it (I don't have much space atm) but apparently it couldn't be deleted. It said that it's still working in the system. Is it needed to have the iso file with the game to have it running? Because both of them are 100 gigs and that's quite a lot

No, the .iso is only used for installing the game. You need to eject the .iso from wherever you mounted it, then you can delete the file(s).
R-Click the .iso in your tree and select 'eject.'

not that im aware of no. best I could find was learning that crack has some messed up exe files and I haven't finished the rest of them to see if it happens in the others to know but thankfully KH1 doesn't have you make a cleared save file like the rest do so its no real loss

That "timeline" is wrong. Playing Birth By Sleep first will spoil a lot of plot events that happen in the first and 2nd games. Proper play-order begins with KH1.

Then you see Language=en
Change that to whatever you wanna use, f.e. de(german) fr(french) es(spanish) it (italian) ru(russian) etc
Only keep in mind that some languages might not be supported cause the developers might not have included it.
Its a matter of testing here :) I only know for sure, that dutch (language=nl) is not supported :)

I was having the same problem.
Thing is, I was forgetting to copy and paste the files from the CODEX folder (inside the .iso file) to the game folder.
The game lauched correctly after I did that.

Google for direct x web
Then download direct x from microsoft and install it.
If you cant install direct x, or cant launch the game when youve installed direct x, then you might not have windows 10.
It could also be that you have a graphics card, thats not supporting direct x 12. Older graphic cards dont support it.

No matter what I do I cannot make it work, disabled windows defender permanently, disabled all shields from avast, turned on an off my internet(it's cable btw), manually prevented all the exes from accecing the internet, made an exemption for all the exes and the folder in avast, nope, nothing, nada, I'm just frustrated by this point

able to setup input at global setting but thats that.

use ds4windows. That normally fixes these kind of problems.
If you use a ps4 controller you can natively connect the controller via windows 10.
Then afterwards open steam, and add kh1.5+2.5 as a non steam game.
Then at game properties in steam, select that you wanna use the ds4 input method.
This way i could play yakuza 0 how its supposed to be with the correct buttons.
And this worked for fifa as well without the controller having to be in exclusive mode.
So try it this way :)

Worked and no problem. Installed the game, copy paste folder from game.iso (CODEX folder) to installed game location.
After that, extract the fixer, copy paste again to game folder. Launch game not from launcher, but from specifix game icon

there is nothing...you just can reload the last save and beat the boss again no real loss. the issue i am having is kingdom hearts 2 it crashes after the first big fmv scene right at the start of the game.

Like i said before in the comments, the game requires windows 10 and a dx12 compatible graphic card. So even if you windows 10, but an older graphic card that dont support dx12, the game wont work.

So i've done a few things and the crashing "seems" to be gone but not sure yet as i havent gotten to where the crashes started yet, but the sound in kh2 fm is constantly dipping and doing weird stuff during fights, any fix?

I can launch everything and save now but only if Real Time Protection on Windows Defender is off. If I turn on (even if I "exclude" on the Defender the save data folder, game exe and folder where exe is), I cannot save the game. Anyone else go through that?

If you run into crash after opening the game after 1 sec issues,
press window+r
find "msconfig"
go to startup tabs
uncheck nahimic services and realtek audio
and restart pc
works for me

Thanks for suggestion. Still is not working. Realtek disabled under "startup" and unchecked under "services" if that is what you meant. I don't have nahamic as an option. Still doesn't work after the restart. White screen for one second and goes to desktop.

I
have a problem with the game where KH2 and Re:Chain won't work after
trying to create a new game, I tried starting both and once the opening
cutscene starts it goes full dark and skipping the cutscene doesn't help
either.
I already tried extracting without antivirus and installed the offline patch, the patch works wonders aside from KH2 and ReChain.
Also, for some reason the games don't recognize my Ps4 controller.

I had the same problem, for me I was launching the wrong file, dont launch the "launcher.exe" as that isnt the first file normally loaded and thus the game thinks you skipped a step and gets really confused for lack of a better explanation, launch the "remix.exe" first instead

yes you can I did this myself. Make sure to remove the (1) from the file names incase you downloaded multiple from different sources otherwise winrar spits out errors

KH 2 is fairly unstable right now. But I recommend playing on fullscreen + 30 FPS as this will prevent (most) crashes. Currently I'd say I crash maybe like every 4 hours once?

Every single time I've had this, it was because the files didn't extract correctly and were incomplete.
If you can't fix it, try reextracting it again.

Before I download, first want to say thanks because i love the kingdom hearts series and being on PC now is amazing but i dont want to get a letter from my ISP for fining or getting my internet shut off so does anyone know if this is 1. safe and i can just download without getting a letter 2. i use at&t ISP how strict are they usually on these kinds of things i just dont have the money for fines and dont want to cause a problem in my household since im 18 and living here rent free at the moment (college in the fall + work) so im not trying to get our internet taken away ive downloaded many games off this site but this one just came out a few days ago compared to the other games i have downloaded that was years or months back plus a smaller game company, please let me know anyone, even if you tell me its not ill be okay ill just have to wait a bit or something

It is absolutely safe in terms of viruses, but I can show the DMCA I received from launching this game connected to the internet when I couldn’t block the firewall or it wouldn’t launch. If he’s concerned he’s probably in a place where his ISP would be upset. This would be fine to play with a VPN.

It’s safe to play absolutely in terms of viruses but definitely use a VPN. It sends data to Epic’s servers and SqEx on launch and internet connection can’t be blocked through the firewall or else the game does not work. I received a notice/DMCA from my ISP for this release just yesterday from playing it without a VPN as a DDL download.

Warning for anyone using this CODEX release, you cannot block the game through your firewall (as the instructions from Codex suggest) or disconnect from the internet or it flat out doesn't work. I would not recommend touching this without a VPN until that's either patched or another release comes out without that necessity, unless you live in a country that doesn't give a shit about piracy.
For me personally, as much time as I'll probably spend with this game, using a VPN the whole time and verifying it's connected isn't worth it. Launched it yesterday morning and woke up today to a DMCA letter citing this game from my ISP, downloaded it through DDL no torrents.
10 years of piracy and the only other time this happened was when Ubisoft implemented a phone-home system with user IP's in pirated copies within one of the new Assassins Creed games, also downloaded through DDL no torrenting.

If you don’t use one and you live in a country that isn’t piracy friendly, I would absolutely use one. Launching the game without one had a DMCA sent to me through my ISP within 24 hours, DDL no torrent.

Always used VPN for years. At first you had to do it yourself but now it's almost free and pretty fast with many services over the world. It's wise protection against government's tracking and anti-piracy bots.
So i'm not surprised they added some kind of feature like this on their new games.
Unfortunately, they can't do anything against VPN nodes since they're encrypted packets and it's forbidden by law to even ask someone for his encryption key without any evident proof. (It's like asking for password of someone you suspect without proof).
Normally, VPN services worldwide are protecting their customers but be extremely careful about the free ones strongly if you're in a country where download/streaming is monitored by autority. Read the general conditions of use before paying a VPN service.

I don't know if its just me, but i have and issue that i don't know what to do, when i play Kh2 FM the cutscenes are in 10fps when i press start it goes up and when i resume it goes to 10 again, after i skip the next cutscene still in 10 fps and when i get to gameplay it goes to 120 fps but the game is fast AF does anyone else have this issue, help please
Edit: I had the same issue with playing DDD but when i play on windowed mode it plays normal the cutscene and also the gameplay, tried with KH2 on windowed mode and it works fine...why i cant play it on fullscreen mode...help please

No. No version of the game has dual audio. For the record, Nomura said the canonical version/voice cast is the English version, and that's how it's intended to be played.

Eh, it was a big thing back in the height of the PS2 years. A collab of this nature was unfathomable, so it's understood at that time for all the hype. Plus, Disney had a good reputation/mask on at that time vs. the evil syndicate that we see today.
I personally didn't care for it as well. One of my gaming buds had a problem with fighting Sephiroth and shoved the controller into my hands. Gotta tell ya, I sucked harder than Paris Hilton would in order to stay relevant. So I started from scratch and tried again. The vengeance is the only thing that got me through the game in the first place. Couldn't see myself playing the other games just for the explanation of these other Squenix charas nor was I thrilled that I haveta replay the remakes for it all to make sense. I was rollin in an Arwing to get to the Colosseum and I beat the TIMBS off of Cloud's side piece. Fair to say my unreasonable grudge was thoroughly satisfied.

ok guys for me (on laptop) the game was running on my integrated graphics card wich was causing the game running on 4-5 fps max. I had to go over my nvidia panel to fix that and make my game run on my nvidia graphic card. Now its running very smoothly at over 60 fps

You should be able to go into Nvidia Control Panel and then Manage 3D Settings and set the OpenGL rendering GPU to the graphics card you're using for all games instead of doing it by program.

looking through bizkit047's twitter it seems crashes aren't uncommon+ there's still some fps issues (anything above 30 wackies some stuff int he game). So I guess we'll have to wait for these to be patched out

I installed it correctly but it won't start for me :/ Also tried to install all visual c++ packages... my rig: r7 3700x + ati hd 5870 + 32gb ram, installed it on my nvme ssd and exernal hdd, nothing works. when I try to start it, my mouse loads for a second, the game icon shows up in the task bar and then it disappears and no sign of kingdom hearts - by the way: melody of memories runs perfectly fine..

Don't bother with the story, it gets stupid and convoluted after KH2. You can play at any order, but always be mindful about the chronological setting of each game.

the story is totally stupid and unintersting, people tend to say it's cool just because it's bad AND poorly told, which makes room for a lot of speculation that KH fans really started to like for some reason

2.8 Final Chapter Prologue contains Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance(The one that was one 3ds),Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage which is a special chapter with Aqua in the Dark World and Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover which is a 80 or so minute movie detailing the events of the mobile game. Melody Of Memory is, to my knowledge, not plot centric so you can skip it if you want to

Not everyone knows how it's said (I sure didn't for a while), so I thought I'd put it in a post and spread the knowledge. I actually haven't beaten either, but I thought they were fun. I need to get back to them at some point. I liked the Panels from Days and the emphasis on preparing beforehand, but I do agree that Re:Coded feels slightly like a retread of KH1.

I never bothered with Gummi Ship crafting during my two KH2 playthroughs. For every level, I just selected the one that was 1 level higher than the last one I used. The newest craft, essentially. That said, if you're going to do all the levels and their missions, you'll have to face Hunter-X. Good luck.
