is it possible to use the long war mod with a cracked copy of xcom 2? i tried running long war 1 with a version of xcom 1 i got from this site and running the exe would give me an error - as the modders intended. is there any way to get around this for xcom 2? or do i need a legit copy to run mods?

I'm gonna leave this message up here, for anyone who may have trouble with either:
Getting "Red screen" errors, or with figuring out menus in 'Dev mode'.
Most websites say to run the exe through a shortcut with a few extra parameters.

I can actually confirm that what the link below says works.
Make a shortcut, open up the target tab in properties, go into the target box, and then add at the end "-noRedScreens -review" (Without quotation marks).
The link should help you better than what I can explain.
As for trying to figure out the menus whilst still in developer mode, just click the "Final shell menu" button (or named something like that), and it should show you menus that a normal player should see.
Adding the parameters from above also cancels out the devmode, solving both problems.

If you want to spend a little more time with stuff just copy and paste all files and folders to another folder that you make mark it as xcom2 or what ever after all files and folders are in that one folder except the files from the extracted folder that you get off here don't put them into that folder just the ones that are there after you download and install the game okay now after all the files and folders are in that new folder witch should be marked xcom2 or such open folder click on the .exe or witch ever one starts the game and does not try to start up steam..
I can say i have had problems with some of the games that have to be cracked on this site but to help most of you guys out with stuff here is how it goes...
Once you download all parts unzip and extract the files to where ever you like.
install the game okay now if you don't know how to crack i will give you some easy steps to follow for just the games okay.
After you do the unzip and extract and start to mount to a drive if the game needs it look for any cracked folder where you mounted the game to okay.
Next copy all the cracked folders from where you mounted on copy don't move then past them into another folder you make new name it xcom2 or what ever you want.
Then install the game after full installed copy any and all files/folders from the main installer folder then past them in that one folder you made new with the name xcom2 or whatever.
Then open folder after all files are fully in that new folder now click the .exe and the game should start right up no errors at all just make sure steam does not start up or you did it wrong.
But if one error does seam to pop up just copy any and all files from cracked folders and all other folders in that new folder you made and past them in that folder that is named xcom2 or whatever.
then try and run it again if that don't work i'm sorry to tell you but your system might not be able to run it or your firer wall is stopping the game from running at all some times you even get that stupid publisher error i am working on this to try and fixe that to help people out but i am sure that it is not the publisher but your computer that is stopping the game if that is so i think you got to add that folder or game to be allowed to be run on your computer i think there is a place some where in the computer or properties that let you add it so you can run it not sure just taking a guess.
But to add in one more thing guys/girls most of people won't try and help you out or give you small answers like idk or something stupid because they can't figure it out them self's.
But just to let the ones know that are here that can't get the game running i am trying everything to see if i can help any one out by downloading and running most games on my computer to see how to fix it.
If you got any more questions or it seams i have missed something let me know.
But remember don't give up because i know for sure that almost any game will work on any pc depending because i for one do know this i have a intel core I3 in my computer and i can still run arma 3 with problems yeah because my computer is old.
But i have downloaded a lot of games like this and also downloaded more from tycoon games to space conquering games to LOTRBFME1 and 2 and have been running them fine with the fact of running them on low graphics just to see if they will work right.
But by any means if you need something post it here and let me know and i'll try and figure it out for you.
I am also sure i did miss a few things if i did let me know also because some times i do forget to put them in posts.

I've installed this, and it's working fine for the most part, but apparently it's running in some sort of "Developer Mode", and as a result I'm frequently getting "Red Screen Errors" that block up the whole window and need to be dismissed manually. How do I run this game without Developer Mode?

Por si a alguien le pasa que el juego no arranca a mi me funciono intalar el direx , los Frame hasta el 4.6 y el service pack 1 en mi win 7. y para instalar mods se crea solo una carpeta llamada ( Mods ) en XCOM 2\XComGame . y luego abrir el launcher que sale una ventana con la cara del marciano darle a play y saldra un error solo se cierra y se abre igual que antes y ya funcionan los mods.
lo que no se hacer es que funcione el DLC de shen lo pongo y el juego ya no me funciona no sale nada ni errores ni nada solo no hace nada ojala alguien me pudiera decir como soluciono eso :D

Game just says 'This app cannot run on your PC. Check with the publisher for a working version'. Plz help. I have Windows 10 installed, and I don't want to even try to revert back to previous versions. I don't have the product key for previous versions anyway.

It says the MSVCR120.dll is missing, I updated my c++ and it still says that, furether more I can confirm it is not a warped download of the file as I went to skidrow and downloaded their crack and got the same message.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that the download was altered mid download for most of you, because this was a 33 part download with a crack at the end, now I suspect that the download was compressed differently and has a crack with it.
I'm lazy so I won't be doing that.

ok, so for some reason i downloaded, cracked it using the cpuid ,or what ever thing, bat file but it says it cant start because nvtt_64.dll is missing. I dont know what could be the issue here. I even tried to download the missing dll off the internet, but then it said its missing a different dll. Can some one plz help.

I get an exception error (0) with the cpuid application. Is there any specific place I'm supposed to put the folder or icons, because as far as I know, I've followed all directions diligently.

theirs one more problem i forgot to mention if you know how to play the other xcom game just skip the tutorial it glitches or something you cant select your guys to give them orders it took me like 5 times to get it to work for me i did it over and over to just watch the cut scenes so be aware.

I have a problem with game. When i try to run game i have a popup saying that i need at last directx 10.1, when i have directx 11. Someone know how to fix it?

I have no real problems so far. Game works fine. There are a few bugs here and there like: soldier ist holding minigun like a normal ausault rifle or 5 second pause before talking in missions, etc.
Sometimes my game freezes and the colour of the screen changes to green and purple stripes but thats a problem of my graphic card and not of the game...
Other than that, nice crack

Game works just fine if you run the crack and get the red-screen fixed very easy but the only problem i have is when you try to promote one of you guys the game freezes there is a very little chance for it to work so just don't promote you guys and lets just hope someone find a way to get past that bug.

Okay Guys. I found out how to change the language the proper way.
Go
to XCOM2\Binaries\Win64 and open steam_api.ini search language and
change it to your language "example= german,english,spanish ect."
Then open 3DMGAME.ini in the same folder.
And search language there. Do the same thing there. "example= german,english,spanish ect."
If this didnt help you then go and search Zakaros comment. Maybe it will work for you.

I've crashed in the cutscene after the tutorial 3 times now, same spot. it's the cinematic in which the patient,"I guess the former commander" is pulled off the stretcher and it starts to freeze up, then full crash a few seconds of stuttering.
Anyone know whats going on with that?

For someone can't start it... You should download CRACK FILE at STEP 3, I think you forgot download CRACK before start game.

Excuse me, but the ModLauncher inside Binaries/Win64/Launcher can't find the Xcomgame.exe? :( The vanilla game exe work perfectly, but the ModLauncher crashes on startup. :/

Hey Guys,
I'm struggling trying to get the game to work. I set the language, run the cpuid.exe, create shortcut and add "-noRedScreens -review" to the target location. Run it and it comes up with "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application." I have removed the files and extracted the downloads again and still come up with the same issue. Currently running High-Spec Machine. I have no clue why this occurs, anyone got any insight?

The game minimizes on start up and when I try to alt tab it just minimizes again, It is running and I can here the music but I can't do anything while it is minimized.

I am still getting red screens all over the place. Atleast i can play it though.

Yo peeps remember to disable your antivirus before extracting the game. anti virus will think the crack is a virus and it will delete the crack dll without your consent.
Thats why you will have a missing dll error :)

When I run Xcom2.exe I get this entire other menu than what i got on the first launch and when i go back to the final shell menu, and run the game, it doesn't let me move my characters.
