When I run it, I just get a black patch on my screen, and nothing happens. I have tried to let it do its own thing, but after 20 minutes, still just black. Is the Install different from others, or have I done something wrong?

Hi,
i know its a bit late but i just had the same problem.
For me it was changing the graphic options that killed the game. After this the game would not start. I had to delete the profile in documents/alaska so it would start again.

Explanation:

Set back: put the bait back in the pot and recast
Stack: retrieve the pot and leave
Store: recast without bait, doesn't count as "fishing" out of season.
About fishing OOS: beside false starts, leaving baited pots around after season ends counts. Try 2 or 3 x 40 x 2r King (stack at >=50% quota) and 3 x 50 x 3r Othelio.
